Spiegel Grove and dives on the Spiegel Grove.

The Spiegel Grove has been in many newspapers across the world.  I was involved on a limited scale in assisting with the sinking of the ship.  The following pages are some of the images and story to go along with the sinking.

The Spiegel Grove arrived at Key Largo and the work began on getting her diver safe and ready.  Many people put in long hot hours on this event.  Welding Crews, clean up crews, safety crews all worked very hard getting the Grove ready for her new mission.  They would start at 6:00 am every morning and their day ended at 11:00 pm in the very hot metal ship. These people deserve a BIG THANK YOU from anyone who dives that ship.
Everyone was Proud.  The ship was here at last.  Everything was on schedule and they were going to have a nice dive site that would bring divers from around the world to see it.  There was a lot of local support as well as support from all over the globe.
Rob Bleser and his people planned the best they could.  They got as many different experts as they could.  They all wanted this to be the best dive site ever.  Charlie Beeker from Indiana University helped on the project along with some IU students.  I (Mark Brooks) was there to assist in any way that I could.  Everything was going great.
