Key Largo Florida, May 2006
We all arrived at Quiescence Diving Services on Sunday May 8th. Every one had made it down with no problems. Sunday, we got everyone in the water for a quick check. After some minor adjustments, we had everything ready for Monday morning and the first day of check out dives.
Monday morning, Mark, Jason, Paul, Martin, Dana and Scott went out diving on Brodie's Reef. It was Martin, Dana and Scott's first time diving in the open water. All divers did well, they got to see two sharks, eel, and lots of reef fish. Next, we went to another special place dive. Again all the new divers did great. We came home, logged our dives and got ready for the next day.
Tuesday morning, we return for the adventure. This time we made our first dive on Molasses Reef ball 10. Everyone had a fun time, watching fish, exploring the coral. Our next site was the Spanish Anchor, the new divers finished their skills, explored the coral and enjoyed a turtle. Congrats to Martin, Dana and Scott for completing PADI Open Water on this trip and Jason for completing Dolphin Rebreather.
Wednesday, Martin, Scott and Dana got the day off. So Mark, Paul and Jason dove the Spiegel Grove. The visibility was super, the current was light. We came down at the best spot on the ship, by the light box. We checked out the Plaque, explored outside for a few minutes.
Next Jason and Paul enter the wreck to go see the "SNOOPY". While yours truly explored outside the wreck to see some of it that I had never seen as it, because it was buried. The two enter the wreck and processed towards "snoopy". For those who don't know, I am not BIG into overhead environments. I explored the starboard side of the wreck. I was surprised how many grow was on that side. Even the parts that we buried have grown so much.
The gun mounts, the railing was all visible before, but even the starboard side that was down is now grown over. This side of the ship show a lot more damage than the port side.
I enter the wheel house and took these photos. I know that it was hard to believe, but I did actually swim thru the wheel house.
A port hole view from the wheel house.
I swam to meet up with the other divers. Swimming past the crane operator station and a cable roll.
Here is the Snoopy from inside the Grove. Pictures taken by Jason Nunn. Our second dive was a drift of Molasses Reef. We did a 60 foot drift, enjoying the sea life and relaxing.

The others swam by so gracefully. More great adventures tomorrow. Come join us in the fun.
